Help Preserve Our Racing Heritage

Nemaha County Speedway

One of the newest projects at the Nemaha County Historical Society is the development of a permanent display highlighting the history of the Nemaha County Speedway. Located southeast of Oneida, the speedway became a popular Sunday destination beginning in 1955, drawing drivers and racing fans from across northeast Kansas and southeast Nebraska. The exhibit will feature photographs, newspaper articles, advertisements, and information about the drivers, car owners, and promoters who helped make the track a local attraction. We are also seeking additional photographs, programs, trophies, and personal memories to help tell the complete story of this unique chapter of Nemaha County history. If you have racing memorabilia or stories to share, we would love to hear from you as we continue preserving the legacy of the Nemaha County Speedway.
